During the 1990s, a major food brand in Brazil sold a chocolate called "Surpresa" (Surprise). It was a small bar accompanied by a card with photographs of faraway places, almost always of unexplored nature. This was one of my inspirations to travel and start photographing. Three decades later, I pay homage to these memories and blend them with the tension of the big cities that deeply permeates me. The intention is to form a paradoxical and dichotomous dialogue between these two ways of experiencing the world.
